What are tank inspections and cleaning?

Tank inspections and cleaning keep your cold water storage tanks and other vessels clean, well-maintained and fit for purpose. Over time, tanks can accumulate sediment, debris, biofilm and scale, creating conditions in which bacteria can thrive. Regular inspection and cleaning are core control measures under ACoP L8 and HSG274.

Our teams carry out visual and internal inspections, condition reporting, and full cleaning and disinfection of storage tanks, all of which are recorded with photographic evidence. We assess the integrity of lids, screens, insulation and overflows, and advise on any repairs or improvements needed to protect water quality and maintain compliance.
