Your questions answered.

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and research sites must comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations). Fire risk assessments, equipment maintenance, and staff training are essential to manage ignition risks from chemicals and volatile substances safely.

  • Strict water hygiene control is vital to maintain sterile conditions and prevent contamination. Compliance with HSG274, BS 8558 and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requires regular water sampling, Legionella risk assessments and system disinfection to ensure water purity across production and laboratory systems.

  • Electrical installations in pharmaceutical environments should undergo testing and inspection in line with BS 7671 and ATEX safety standards. Regular EICR testing, equipment calibration and preventive maintenance help ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with stringent safety regulations.

  • Cleanroom environments rely on controlled air quality to maintain product integrity. Compliance with ISO 14644 and COSHH requires continuous air quality monitoring and HEPA filter testing to prevent contamination, protect personnel, and meet GMP validation standards.
