What is a Legionella control programme?

A Legionella control programme is the ongoing management regime that puts your risk assessment into action and keeps it there. It brings together monitoring, sampling, inspections, maintenance and record-keeping under a single written scheme of control, ensuring that identified risks are managed continuously rather than assessed and forgotten.

We design and deliver control programmes tailored to your systems, sector and risk profile, in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274. From appointing responsible persons and defining tasks to managing schedules, records and reviews, we provide the structure and specialist support that turns a risk assessment into demonstrable, day-to-day compliance.

How we can help.

What is a Legionella control programme?

End-to-end management

One coordinated programme ties together monitoring, sampling, inspections and records so nothing falls through the gaps.

Regulatory alignment

Your scheme of control is built around ACoP L8 and HSG274, providing a clear framework for ongoing compliance.

Defined responsibilities

We help set out roles, responsible persons and tasks, giving everyone clarity on what needs to be done and when.

Continuous oversight

Scheduled tasks and reviews keep your control measures live, with issues identified and addressed as they arise.

Complete records

A single, auditable record set demonstrates due diligence to regulators, insurers and auditors at any time.

Long-term partnership

We work alongside your team over the long term, adapting the programme as your systems and needs change.

  • Yes. We can manage the schedule, carry out the tasks, keep the records and advise on reviews, giving you demonstrable compliance with minimal management burden.

  • A risk assessment identifies the risks; the control programme is the ongoing regime that manages them. The two work together to keep you compliant over time.
