What is fire alarm servicing, maintenance and repair?

Fire alarm servicing, maintenance and repair is the planned inspection, testing, and corrective work that keeps your fire detection and alarm system safe, reliable, and compliant. It confirms that detectors, call points, sounders, power supplies, and control equipment operate as intended, and that your cause and effect supports safe evacuation. Work is delivered in line with BS 5839‑1 and your duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, with clear records for audit and insurance.

Why choose Complii?

How we can help.

Protect your people, property, and business. Here’s why we’re the right choice for fire alarm service, maintenance and repair.

Legal compliance and assurance

Routine inspections by competent engineers help you meet statutory duties and demonstrate that the system is maintained in a state of good repair. Certificates and service sheets provide evidence that stands up to scrutiny.

Greater reliability and performance

Preventive maintenance keeps devices within specification, confirms audibility, and verifies standby capacity. A well maintained system is more dependable when it matters most.

Fewer false alarms and less disruption

Correct configuration, cleaning, and timely replacement of ageing components reduces unwanted alarms, which protects productivity and avoids unnecessary evacuations.

Faster fault resolution

Engineers carry common spares and diagnostic tools, achieving first visit fixes wherever possible. Clear escalation and response times keep downtime to a minimum.

Budget control and lifecycle planning

You receive prioritised remedial lists and forward plans for replacements and upgrades, which helps you set realistic budgets and avoid surprise costs.

Robust documentation and audit readiness

Service reports, logbook entries, and asset registers create a transparent audit trail for insurers, landlords, and enforcing authorities. This supports internal governance and compliance reviews.

They verify zoning, cause and effect, labelling, audibility, and standby power, then issue a service report and certificate.
